The Hatching Sands

These are the Hatching sands, where the clutches are kept warm by the heat-rententive sand nests made by both species.  The eggs of both species at first are rather plain, but as they harden and develop on the sands, they show markings and colors reminiscent of the markings and colors of the hatchlings themselves.

There are two clutches on the sands.
